The short answer
Use the MyiTero lab-connection workflow to connect the recipient confirmed by ExoLink. Check the restorative order and its receipt; an available scanner connection is not a live API integration.
What must be confirmed before sending patient scans?
First apply as a clinic and wait for ExoLink approval. Ask the ExoLink team to confirm the recipient account for your scanner system and the clinic identity that should appear on incoming cases. This website does not publish a scanner mailbox, lab ID or ready-to-use partner identifier. Do not search for a similarly named account and assume it is the correct recipient.
Agree the permitted patient identifiers, data-processing responsibilities and information needed on the prescription before sharing files. Keep patient-specific information in an approved clinical system rather than the public contact form. Check your own scanner account permissions and ask your practice administrator if you cannot manage recipient connections.
Where is the manufacturer connection guidance?
iTero provides an official training video specifically for connecting labs to an iTero scanner through MyiTero. Use that current training for the account controls and menu labels shown by your scanner. A restorative prescription and a complete scan are separate from account connection: confirm both before sending. Features and export options can depend on the case type and the products enabled on your account.
How do you complete the manual handoff?
- Get the verified iTero recipient
Ask ExoLink for the recipient identity supported by your approved clinic workflow. Have your clinic's registered contact and scanner account details ready. The team must confirm the connection arrangement before patient scans are sent; no recipient ID is supplied on this public page.
- Sign into the clinic's MyiTero account
Use the MyiTero account associated with the clinic and follow the official connecting-labs training linked below. If you cannot access the required connection controls, ask your practice administrator or iTero support to check your account permissions.
- Follow the MyiTero lab-connection workflow
Use the manufacturer workflow to connect the exact recipient supplied by ExoLink. Verify spelling and any identifiers against your onboarding confirmation. If the account cannot be found or the connection needs support approval, pause and resolve that rather than choosing a similarly named account.
- Verify the recipient on the scanner
Confirm that the recipient can be selected for the intended restorative case type in your scanner workflow. A connection visible in a web account may still need the scanner to synchronise. Use current iTero support guidance if the approved recipient is not available.
- Complete and review the prescription
Create the required case type and review the prepared tooth, opposing arch, bite and prescription. Specify the requested product and clinician-approved material details. Check that the selected recipient is the confirmed account, not a default recipient retained from a previous case.
- Send and verify the handoff
Send using the manufacturer's normal workflow, review the sharing or order status and keep the reference. Ask ExoLink to confirm receipt and case completeness. Do not assume an STL export or portal upload alone has created a tracked ExoLink case.
How do you know a scan has arrived?
A successful upload in the manufacturer's portal is not the same as an accepted ExoLink case. Retain the portal reference and ask the team to confirm receipt, the correct clinic and the completeness of the prescription. Do not book a fitting appointment from an unconfirmed delivery estimate. If the expected acknowledgement does not arrive, check the order status and contact the team without resending an identifiable patient record through ordinary email.
What if your menu looks different?
Manufacturers change software, licences and available workflows. Follow the current official instructions linked below for your account and region. If the recipient connection is unavailable, pause and contact manufacturer support or your scanner reseller. ExoLink does not claim an automatic scanner API connection at this stage. These guides describe the manual portal handoff; case intake and tracking will be introduced in later build stages.
Explore the clinic workflow, read about the lab network or apply as a clinic. Use Contact for non-patient onboarding questions.
Which official source should you check?
iTero: connecting labs through the MyiTero portal — manufacturer guidance checked for this page. Menu names and account availability can change; always use the instructions for your actual account and software version.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I find the ExoLink recipient identity?
After your clinic is approved, ask the ExoLink team to confirm the recipient for your scanner system. No mailbox, account ID or ready-to-use lab identifier is published on this page.
Does this guide mean automatic scanner importing is live?
No. This is a manual manufacturer-portal handoff guide. Scanner API imports and tracked case intake are later build stages.
