The short answer
Create an accepted partnership with the Medit Link recipient confirmed by ExoLink, then order from the clinic's Case Box. Check the Order Box and confirm receipt.
What must be confirmed before sending patient scans?
First apply as a clinic and wait for ExoLink approval. Ask the ExoLink team to confirm the recipient account for your scanner system and the clinic identity that should appear on incoming cases. This website does not publish a scanner mailbox, lab ID or ready-to-use partner identifier. Do not search for a similarly named account and assume it is the correct recipient.
Agree the permitted patient identifiers, data-processing responsibilities and information needed on the prescription before sharing files. Keep patient-specific information in an approved clinical system rather than the public contact form. Check your own scanner account permissions and ask your practice administrator if you cannot manage recipient connections.
Why does a Medit partnership matter?
Medit's clinic workflow describes requesting a partnership with the selected recipient before sending an order. The request needs to be accepted; a search result by itself is not a partnership. Its guidance then uses Case Box, Case Details and Order Box to prepare and follow orders. Check the current Medit Link release and help centre if labels differ from the manufacturer's illustrated workflow.
How do you complete the manual handoff?
- Request the correct Medit Link recipient
Ask the ExoLink team to provide the verified Medit recipient identity after your clinic is approved. Do not invite a similarly named public account or share patient data while the identity is still being checked. Confirm which clinic organisation should make the request.
- Sign into the clinic's Medit Link account
Use the account associated with your clinic and open its partner-management workflow. If you cannot manage partnerships, ask your administrator to check permissions. Review Medit's current clinic-ordering guidance before starting your first handoff.
- Request and wait for the partnership
Find the verified recipient and use Request Partnership, as described in Medit's clinic workflow. Wait until the recipient accepts and is listed as a partner. If the request remains pending, ask the team to verify it; do not keep creating duplicate requests.
- Prepare and review the scan case
Create or open the case in Case Box, complete the required scanning stages and inspect the resulting data. The clinician should confirm that the preparation, opposing arch and bite are adequate for the intended prescription. Correct missing or distorted areas before ordering.
- Order from Case Details
Open the intended case, use the Order workflow and complete the Order Case information for the confirmed partner. Review product and prescription details before confirming. Medit's guidance notes that separate orders may require separate case handling; follow the current software instructions for your scenario.
- Check Order Box and ExoLink acknowledgement
Use Order Box to check that the order is listed and review its status. Medit describes a pending state until the receiving partner accepts the order. Retain the reference and confirm receipt with ExoLink; portal acceptance does not by itself confirm a production or delivery date.
How do you know a scan has arrived?
A successful upload in the manufacturer's portal is not the same as an accepted ExoLink case. Retain the portal reference and ask the team to confirm receipt, the correct clinic and the completeness of the prescription. Do not book a fitting appointment from an unconfirmed delivery estimate. If the expected acknowledgement does not arrive, check the order status and contact the team without resending an identifiable patient record through ordinary email.
What if your menu looks different?
Manufacturers change software, licences and available workflows. Follow the current official instructions linked below for your account and region. If the recipient connection is unavailable, pause and contact manufacturer support or your scanner reseller. ExoLink does not claim an automatic scanner API connection at this stage. These guides describe the manual portal handoff; case intake and tracking will be introduced in later build stages.
Explore the clinic workflow, read about the lab network or apply as a clinic. Use Contact for non-patient onboarding questions.
Which official source should you check?

Frequently asked questions
Where can I find the ExoLink recipient identity?
After your clinic is approved, ask the ExoLink team to confirm the recipient for your scanner system. No mailbox, account ID or ready-to-use lab identifier is published on this page.
Does this guide mean automatic scanner importing is live?
No. This is a manual manufacturer-portal handoff guide. Scanner API imports and tracked case intake are later build stages.
